im sure their are hunderds of post on this but i want some up to date info about this. i have the v- amp 2 i think it sounds awsome. what does the pod have that the v amp doesnt have....how close does either of these amp simulators come close to the real thing...if i wanted to get a pro sound like the big bands is this the way to go on a cheap budget. if any one has the v amp or pod and wanna talk about it IM me here on aim rufiochris581 thanks

I had the vamp-2 and only messed around a couple of times with the pod.

I think the pod is a step up, but not "enough" for the trouble.

IMHO, if I were to upgrade, I would just go for the podxt. that would be a major improvement.

I have the rackmount V-Amp Pro and while the pre sets aren't all that amazing sounding, when you get into the box and start to edit the sounds it has some really useable tones. If I lost mine tomorrow I'd replace it straight away without even thinking of the Pod. For the money it gets my vote.

I have a Pod and a Flextone XLII. I use to love my Pod until I got the Peavy Satriani Tube head. The Pod produces average results at best compared to the real thing. (mic'ing a cabinet) I haven't played the V-amp so I don't know how the Pod compares. Don't ever buy a Line 6 Footboard though........total junk!
