I am considering buying the PK6 to use with Reason. Does anyone consider this to be a good move?

Yea...and I can get the PK6 for like $300.

PK-6 is a decent synth. I am big fan of the XK-6 Xtreme Keys, and the PK-6 is the same engine, and offers the same upgradeability (3 slots for ROM cards). The E-MU ROM cards are nice too. Good Pick!!!

I have a PK6.

I bought it because I like the Proteus module quite a bit, I used them extensively back in the day.

It's a great synth, but an "ok" keyboard. What I mean is that it's not very versatile as a bread and butter synth. The horns are dismal. The strings are better. The keys are pretty good. But the synth sounds are very, very good.

Basically it's a good board to tweak, but you're not going to get any instant gratification. The presets are pretty bad. But if you play with it you can get some absolutely apeshit leads that will blow you away.

I use the PK6 for synth leads, and I use my used Yamaha EX5 for everything else. Now that is one bitchin' board. :)

Yeah the EX5 is a pretty bitchin machine!!! I like the no frills straight on approach Yamaha took with those boards. Had a chance to buy one real cheap 2 years ago, and passed. Should bought it. Oh Well!!!
