using reason

I am looking to purhcase a midi controller(keyboard) to use with reason.Any suggestions?
 
reason is pretty versatile. there are many controllers available that will work with it....if i were looking for one, i'd go for the oxygen8 .....
 
What are the advantages of Reason over Sonar XL? I know they can be used togheter, but I don't know the advantages of using Reason instead of Sonar...
 
their aren't any advantage they are 2 different programs reason is basically just for composing a song....u can't record and things like that and u can only use reason sounds sort of a virtual sound module

while sonar is a composer and multitracker where u can use virtual softsynth within it such as Reason

Its Sonar 2 that has rewire capabilities BTW
 
Reason is an extremely powerful softsynth/MIDI environment, Sonar is a decent digital audio recording suite with MIDI features. Either one can be used stand-alone or they can be used together. I like both, and contrary to what Teacher said reason can be used for digital audio if you have knowledge of the sampler environment.
 
what i meant was recording vocals and mixing a track....reason can do that?
