Hi,

I am trying to patch in some external gear as aux effects with Digital Performer 2.71 and a 2408mkII. So far, I've only been able to hear the original signal mixed in with the aux effect, but I can't record it.

Here's how I currently have it set-up...

I have one efx processor patched into the 3rd and 4th input/output of my 2408. And another patched into 5&6.

On the mixing window, I have the aux sends of the audio track I want to process set to outputs 3&4 (or 5&6 depending on which processor I want to use). The aux knobs (L&R) are set to fully wet.

I've created an aux track with the inputs coming from 3 and 4 (the signal coming from the effects box) and the outs going to 1&2 (the main outs). Monitoring-wise, everything seems fine. But when I try to record it, nothing will print.

I want to create a new track with my original audio & the aux effects combined. So far, I've tried setting this new track's input to 1&2 and the outs to 1&2 (my main outs).

I've also tried changing the input of the new track I am trying to record to 3&4 (the input of the processor). But when I do this I usually get a horrible
blast of feedback.

If it helps any, I am patching all my synths, guitars, etc. into a Mackie 1402. The main outs of my 2408mkII are going directly to monitors (they don't go back to my mixer).

Any advice would be appreciated. I can't find any specific information in either the 2408 or DP manual on how to get this to work.

in the pci console are the input boxes checked off for the appropriate channels of your 2408? with my set up i go into my adat first so bank a of the pci console is set to adat and all input boxes are checked. for playback i use bank c set to analog and open (from computer) for all 8 channels.if i need to monitor a different way i take bank c analog and open its output source as adat 1-2,adat2-3,etc. thereby using the 2408s patchbay like features.you might consider patching from your the mackie instead.hope this helps.
