IM A NEWBIE TO THIS ELEMENT OF THE RECORDING PROCESS . . . DOES ANYONE ELSE USE THE EFFECTS PACKAGES THAT COME "NATIVELY" WITH NTRACK?

I JUST STARTED MESSIN AROUND WITH SINGLE DELAY, FOR EXAMPLE. I THINK I LIKE IT BETTER THAN THE NATURAL PACKAGE THAT COMES IN SONYVEGAS.

BUT ARE THERE ANY GOOD TUTORIALS ON HOW TO USE IT MOST EFFECTIVELY>?

WOULD THE QUALITY OF NTRACK'S PACKAGES MAINTAIN, IF U UTILIZE THEM IN NON-NTRACK SOFTWARE? FOR INSTANCE, IF I USE NTRACK SINGLE DELAY IN SONY VEGAS (SINCE THEY BOTH USE THE SAME DIVX TECHNOLOGY--or what ever its called [{the non-vst-style}) would THE NTRACK EFFECTS MAINTAIN THEIR QUALITY?

N-TRACK'S EFFECTS ARE ALL STANDARD, NOTHING SPECIAL. BEST WAY TO LEARN IS TO FOOL AROUND. I KNEW A FEW SITES THAT GAVE GOOD EXPLANATIONS OF GENERAL EFFECTS LIKE N-TRACK'S, BUT I CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT THEY ARE RIGHT NOW.

p.s. don't use capslock :p

I use many of the effects supplied with nTrack. Especially the reverb, para eq and graphic eq.

There are several books that discuss mixing in general; they usually include a section on effects. You can also search this site, especially in the Recording Techniques section. One book that comes to mind is "The Mixing Engineer's Handbook" by Bobby Owsinski. It's a good place to start...I did.

A VST is a VST is a VST. It should work the same regardless of host sequencer being used.

MY BAD on the cap locks!!

Thanks for the feedback -- maybe im just "fooled" [as opposed to foolish] but I think the single delay, echo, chorus that I used in NTRACK sound much better any I have ever applied to my Vegas recordings. At this point, its redundant however, as I am totally without my Vegas sound effects; that is, until I find out what has "hacked" or "infected" my computer.
