using mismatched mics to record?!

Hi Fellas, quick question; tight budget, i have a ldc which i have used to record my drumset and it sounds great. i'm wondering if adding a dynamic mic would be helpful in anyway? was thinking about the sm57 (doing piano/vocal/percussion recordings aswell at the moment.

Can't go wrong with the 57. It would likely be quite a miss match with the condensor in the 'far position (drum over head for example) do to it's low end roll off at those distances, but one of the best pics in general, on the snare and a ton of other uses. Not sure on piano but omeone else can pop in on that one.
