How do i set my Delay so it only gives the track depth?

I don't want to hear the Delay as a effect i want to use it as depth
how do i do this?

use a chorus instead of a delay.

or set a very short delay, and hard pan the delay to one side and the dry to another.

I don't know, but can you tell me what kind of digital delay you have? Was it expensive? What should I look for in a delay? Will a digital delay give me reverb and chorus? I need to know because I am looking for a good digital delay that sounds like U2. I like U2 and play them all the time in my room. I am trying to get the guitar sound that U2 has and I can't get a delay sound in my amp.I could be wrong, but I think I need a digital delay. Which one?

Thanks so much

Go down the shops and try some!... That's the fun part. Knowing you have money and making the poor guy in the shop run around for you! :D

I use a GFX8 multifx and downloaded a very impressive Edge sound for free... I don't use it much but it's nice too have these toys!! :p
