Using Boss GT-6 for Bass

I'm setting up a home studio and I just bought a Bass. I was wondering if anyone knew if the Boss GT-6 Guitar processor could be used well enough for a Bass to lay down most tracks. I'm not trying to be a great bass player, just trying to lay down some decent bass lines, and I don't want to shell out another 400 for the GT-6B. I would figure that they both use alot of the same modeling, just slightly different preset and gain tweaks. Thanks for the help.

It works just fine. That's exactly what I do. You don't really need a shitload of effects for a bass anyway--I've found that some of the best settings for bass guitar are the "acoustic guitar" settings on the GT-6.
