using an equalizer between my mixer and power amp

hey....quick question...i want to use my dual channel grahpic eq for a live show. i wanted to have one channel control the house speakers and the other channel control the monitors. how do i do this? is there a way to literally patch it in between the mixer and power amps or do i have to use aux outs? please answer as soon as possible since the show is tonight!...thanks

Out of the console's mono out (or you can just use the left or right outs and make sure you don't have anything panned) into the EQ and to the racks.

For the monitors, same thing - Out of the (aux send) into the EQ and on to the monitor amps.
