Using All Channels

i am trying to use my gadget labs wave pro 8/24 interface and actually use all 8 channels. for some reason even when i mess with the preferences in adobe audition...it combines channells one and two in channel. if i make the channel one on adobe left...then it only records channel one onmy interface. but i am stumped on how to fix this. let alone use all 8 channels at once...which is what i bought it for.pleaasse help!!!

pan the odd track numbers left and the even ones right and make sure you're recording in mono...that's the first thing I'd look into
