Using akai dps12 for converters

Is it possible to use an Akai dps12 (with optical output) for its 6 channels of preamps and converters thru ADAT? Items like the Steinberg VSL 2020 have ADAT lightpipe connections. So basically what i'm asking is can you use the 6 individual channels of the 12 track as digital converters for recording? I've done this sort of thing with an actual ADAT running lightpipe, but I'm not sure if you could do it with the dps12.

Id have to say no...the outs on my dps16 are 2 channel digital not adat lightpipe...if all else fails...consult your manual.

yeah, it's actually my friend's dps12. FOr some reason teh dps12 has lightpipe and the dps16 doesnt
