i'm using a motu 828, and i'm monitoring with some small event monitors. they are not bad, but i would like to use a subwoofer in addition to these monitors because they do not accurately fill out the low end. the problem is, the motu 828 only has one stereo pair of outputs. is it a bad idea to split those outputs with a splitter (radio shack, or something), and send one stereo set to the events, and the other stereo pair to the subwoofer? i don't like that idea that much...but it's all i can think of.

any advice would be appreciated.

I don't think you need to worry about the 828. Event makes a subwoofer for it's low end biamped monitors (like the PS6) and the hookup should be fairly straightforward. I think you can run two 1/4 TRS>XLR cables from the MOTU 828 monitor outputs to the subwoofer and then connect your Event monitors to the subwoofer via a pass through. Here is what the back of the subwoofer looks like if that helps clear up connection questions:

if i were to split the output with a simple radio shack splitter, what damage would there be to the signal. it would be quieter, right? is that it?
