This weekend I'm recording a new project with some musicians. There will be hand drums and guitar, tamborines and vox. We are going for a nice live sound, so we're recording the bulk of the tracks all at one time to preserve the energy of the music. It just feels way better for everybody to play together instead of on separate takes.
I have 8-10 inputs of my firepod. So I'm going to be using a yamaha mixer to subgroup some of the items that would normally consume a few inputs on the pod. For example, two mics on drums will come out in one channel from the mixer... etc....
Has anyone done this before, and if so, do you have any tips?
