Hi all,

Has anyone successfully used a Digitech RP 2000 ( or similar) guitar modeller (preamp) for vocal recording and/or general preamp roles.

I have been playing around with an SM 57 and the RP2000 and it sounds a lot better than my Flintstone like Peavey XR 600C mixer amp, plus it has much better control cababilities.

The Digitech has EQ, Effects,Commpresion, Reverbs, Delays... plus just about every feesable parameter I could ever dream of.

Obviously its intended for guitar but I had a brainwave that maybe human vocals are not so very differant from guitar sounds?

Regards Alan

I've got a Digitech RP300 that I've run vocals thru with mixed (mostly bad) results.

Keep your speakers on low volume, some of the settings could otherwise damage your ears or blow out your speakers.

I wouldn't really recommend using a guitar processor as a mic preamp, but if you proceed, proceed with caution.

YMMV
