Hi there,
I would like to upgrade my little studio to be able to send 16 tracks at once instead of 8. What would I need on my computer to be able to hook up 2 Delta 1010's? Is it even possible, and if so, how would it be set up?
Thanks,

Right, the hook-up, I can do... I'm more interested in what's involved (if anything, I'm no expert with this stuff) in setting up channels and inputs and such, as well as setting one (or both) as the default card.

All these settings could be easily configured from the maudio control panel. it will recognize two delta 1010's on your system and also it will display their inputs/outputs configs on a seperate window.

For 2 1010's to sync together, you have to install a word clock cable from the unit one's wordclock out jack to the wordclock in of the 2nd unit. Select internal xtal for the clocking of unit 1 and word clock for unit 2. Select multiple card sync in the control panel for unit one and they should work well together.

This is a myth if you are using windows XP. Up to 4 delta family cards will sync together using XP's kernelsync, no cables or extra devices are required.

Hmm... my 1010 pair syncs fine with the wordclock cable attached. I'll try it without and see if XP kernelsync does what it should.

Thanks!

LemonTree was instrumental in helping with advice when I added my second Delta 410. The external cable thing was confusing, but upon his advice, I was able to get them going with little frustration (ASCPI crap aside) No external cabling required. If I recall correctly, just checking a box within the M-Audio Control Panel Window and you are good to go.

Appreciate all the help guys, my second 1010 will be here in a little over a week, I may be back then to ask for some specifics :)

Thank goodness for the multicard sync option

...I have three 1010's in one machine, and 1 in another, those things have THE WORST WORD CLOCK SUPPORT EVER. I have sent them all back to the manufacturer at least once, and still was hard pressed to find two in the bunch that would consistently lock to my lucid clock....
If it weren't for that multicard sync option in the xp driver, I'd be mega-screwed.
