useing your pic ups as frets

what do u call it when u play useing ur pic ups as frets and is it safe i have been doing it cause i only have 21 frets and my first pic up sound realy close to 22nd fret

Ah yes. I am quite familiar with this particular technique. I think its called 'using your pickup as a fret'. :) :p

That technique is called "Obtuse Newb Fretting". It was dicovered many years ago by a poser that went to a friends house and picked up a guitar for the very first time. Once he realized that playing the guitar was much harder than it looked on MTV, he decided just to jump around an put his hands where they didn't belong and TA! DA! Obtuse Newb Fretting was born. Since that time many more posers have adopted this technique as actually learning to play the guitar is much too difficult.

Never mind using your pickups as frets, you should use your guitar as a suppository.
