Is a usb mixer that send only a stero mix decent enough for recording a good demo? I will be mixing the drums on a different mixer and then sending that audio over and using the inputs on the usb mixer for the vocal, bass and guitar. It should sound alright as long as I get the levels good before I record right?

I have Done this before Trying to Track every instrument through a Mixer and it is a BIG Hassle because no matter how good you think you have the Mix before recording after recording there allways seems to be something either too loud or not loud enough ect....

I suggest depending on the Type of Interface you have, Record the Drums and Bass First preferably on seperate Inputs/Tracks and then Track the Guitar and Vocals seperately afterwords, That way you can adjust the Levels of every Instrument and add effects to each instrument seperately...

Also when you record Instruments seperately there is Much less Bleed over from the Other Tracks .....

Cheers

Only if you are not using any MIDI tracks, i had an edirol unit that was supposdly low latency, it wasn't. The only way i could sync midi was adjusting buffer sizes manually each time i was recording and playing back. If your not using midi then you can easily lay down a descent mix with one. Id rather have a sound card though like the 0404.
