Hi,
For my laptop, I've been looking into either the Edirol UA-25, M-Audio Omnistudio, or Lexicon thingamajig (they are all USB). However, since USB is supposed to be so slow and makes the recording processes a pain in the butt... would running a USB soundcard into a PCMCIA adaptor bring the speed back up to that of PCMCIA (like the Echo Indigo)?
Thanks,
Andrew

No. Unless it was USB 2 which is fast anyway.

Never heard of USB->PCMCIA adapters.

USB should b OK, unless ur recording loads of channels at once.
Maybe look into firewire devices eg MOTU 828 mkII or M-Audio FW410.

A good PCMCIA device is the RME cardbus + multiface.
