Hi Everybody,
I have recorded directly to PC (years ago) using a Guilimot Maxi Studio soundcard (Win 95) and had some success but have come to the conclusion that this card is now 'landfill'. Thats fine but I need a solution that will get me recording again and getting those ideas down.
I like using software (CEP and ntrack) to mix and master tracks and would like to include some MIDI drums but only have a laptop now.
I have searcheed on USB interfaces such as the Edirol UA20 and Tascam US-122 and althrough it seems they may do the job, seem like they will cause a lot of headaches as well.
I am keen on hearing thoughts on using a Hardware Multitracker (Tascam DP-01/FX) to get the raw wav's recorded with minimum fuss then uploading to the laptop to mix, add MIDI and master to CD.
2 simultaneous tracks are fine as I am playing most of the instruments (Guitar & Bass) and get vocalists in to do melodies and harmonies.
Any suggestions or comments welcome
