USB noise

Hi
I just bought the Lexicon Omega and im trying different things to make the recording as noiseless as possible.

When im monitoring my guitar through the lexicon straight to my headset it sound good, no noise at all. But as soon as i plug in the USB, i get a buzzing sound, which unfortunately gets recorded as well.

Question: how can i remove the noise
 
Just figured out i can remove the power supply from my laptop, then the noise disapeares.

Guess i can only record music for 2 hours then :o
 
Why is that

I have the exact same buzzing problem when I connect my mixer to the USB port of my laptop. Removing the power cable and running on batteries solved my problem also. This seems to be common - but why? And what can be done to fix that? Surely laptops for portable recording aren't all restricted to two hours only? I use a Dell laptop.
