USB Interfaces/Mixers that can operate without computer

I'm assembling my new music room (new house = new man-cave) and I'd like a set up that doesn't always require me to have my computer on to listen/play. As far as I can tell, the only USB audio interface/mixers that will operate in standalone mode are the Alesis Multimix USB, Zoom R16, Tascam M164UF and the MOTU Ultralite - am I missing any?

I like the guitar friendly aspects of the Toneport UX8, but I'm pretty sure you need the computer hooked up and can't find anything in the manual to suggest otherwise.

Any recommendations?

I'm leaning toward the MOTU for the following reasons:

The MOTU seems the most compact and probably has the best DACs, by I dread their customer support :-) On the other hand, I have both firewire and USB on my laptop, which gives me options if the USB is an issue (I have to have other USB peripherals on the system).

The Zoom and Tascam both look good, although the Tascam looks big and the Zoom looks a little cheap (haven't seen it in person).

The Alesis is out, because I hate top-load mixers.
