USB extender/repeater

I need to extend my mouse/keyboard's usb to get the computer away from me. I have a ten foot USB extender which should be long enough for my needs, but I'm wondering if it would be worthwhile to pay the extra bucks for a 15 foot repeater cable instead. That way I don't have to worry about power or whatever. Especially if one day I need to go further. I don't really know much about the tech issues with extending USB

For mouse/keyboard, it shouldn't be an issue. I wouldn't tinker with extenders/splitters/etc. for usb audio interfaces, but for keyboards or mice, that shouldn't have any ill effects.
