Hi,
The manual for the US-122 says that when the Direct switch is on, the sound passed throught the USB and computer processing is not monitored, and the input signals are passed directly to the outputs for monitoring. But on my system when the Direct switch is on I can still hear what the PC is playing.
Other posts indicate that you can hear tracks playing and what is going into the inputs when the switch is on and that makes sense if you want to play along with something already recorded.
So it seems that the manual is wrong, and what the direct switch really does is mix the inputs with the output from the PC. Is that what everyone else is seeing? Or the manual is just poorly worded and doesn't take into account the difference between sound going to the computer via USB and sound coming from the computer via USB.
I am assuming that when the direct switch is on you don't want the PC echoing (or monitoring) the inputs back to the outputs because that could cause a delay effect.
What do you all think?
