Ok, in another post ive been trying to find out if possibly my 144 is damaged...and I forgot to ask this question which is very strange. For some time now (i dont remember if it was since I got it)...I have to set the Mic/Line knob on whichever channel to almost - at least 90% - towards the Mic setting to get any signal at all. If I leave the knob turned any less towards mic regardless of what mic I use I don't get a useable signal. the green signal light doesnt even light up. however if i turn it all the way 100% to mic, I get the orange/red indication on the signal light. and yes i have phantom power on, this happens even with an SM57. also it is not the mic/line switch, that is set correctly to mic. is this normal for the tascam or could this indicate something is damaged with it? does this happen to you other guys who have the 144?
