I'm thinking of buying a US-122, just wondered what the mic pres are like for recording quiet stuff, Thanks, Rob.

do yourself a favor and get a firebox....you can get them off of ebay for $300.00 with free goodies and shipping.

The 122 pres are fairly quiet (not noisy at high gain) and sound fine. Nothing magical; nothing particularly sucky.

I have a Tascam fw-1804 which I'm very pleased with, I also want a small bus powered interface for mobile stereo recording,it looks like the us-122 will do the job, Thanks. Rob.

I've owned the us-122.....ugh!! ..different unit...different drivers...
