hi,
I have a US-122. While it does exactly what I need & no more, it does seem to be notoriously incompatible w/certain computers & software. I run Cakewalk Home Studio 2004 on my PC (AMD 2400, 512 RAM, 120 gb HD, WinXP Home) & my only MIDI device is an ancient Korg M1. I record vocals & acoustic instruments on audio. Very simple, don't need a big mixer.

Problem is, my computer crashes & restarts several times a day running Cake. (see my many frustrated postings elsewhere on this board). Cake says to reinstall WinXP as Standard PC instead of ACPI to make it work. Now why would I want to do that?!

Anyhoo, rather than replacing the US-122 & having to buy a sound card, mixer & another interface, it makes more sense to switch to another software program that IS compatible w/the US-122. I don't want to spend a mint, & am considering PG Music's PowerTracks Pro, nTrack or Magix. Does anyone here know of any incompatibilities w/the US-122?

Now, if the incompatibility is w/my AMD chipset or XP, that's another issue. But I thought I'd check out other software options too.

Any advice as to which programs are stable, do the job, & have decent tech support?
