US-122 can't receive USB audio

I have a US-122. I recently reimaged my PC and now, the PC won't send audio to the US-122. I checked all the parameters in the Control Panel and finally discovered an interesting thing in the Volume control.

Both the US-122 OUT and US-122 A-B are set to RECORD. I cannot change the US-122 OUT to PLAYBACK (as it should be).

I went so far as to completely uninstall and reinstall the US-122 drivers, to no avail.

Anyone else ever have this problem, or any ideas on how to correct it.

Where did you buy your 122 --- don't they help their customers ?

Very weird. I have the older version, but I know Tascam released a firmware update for the US122L.

I wouldn't necessarily point at the US-122 right off the bat, as I assume it was working before you reimaged your PC (not sure what 'reimaged' means). It's a puzzle for sure, but I would think it lies somewhere in the operating system of the PC. I wish I could help. I'm sure you've tried all the obvious stuff: different USB port, different cable, make sure the US-122 is not connected when you reinstall the drivers. If I can figure something out, I'll be back. I have to say, though, that I have been very happy with my US-122, and it's a very solid piece of gear. Good luck—I hope someone more knowledgeable weighs in!

Reimaging means to restore a previous version of your current operating system frokm a back-up copy.

In any case, if you have done that, do you recall if you had the US 122 working when you made the image? It is possible that you made the image before you had everything fully set-up (at least I have done similar stuff in the past).

If that is the problem, then changing USB cables/ports around will not help. Check you device manager (under system in your control panel) to see if you have a USB root hub set up. If you do not, that would be the culprit and should be fixable by running hardaware detection over again.
