Anyone using the US-122 with windows XP? There is some driver bug that comes up when I start Sonar that tells me there is a driver conflict or it's being used by another process. I have to unplug it from the USB port and plug it back in to make it go away. Anyone else getting that? Any solution found?

enable the share drivers with other programs, or figure out what is using the 122 and stop it before you start Sonar.

i'm assuming that the 122 allows whatever bitrate and sampling frequency you have set in sonar.

Hi Crosstudio -

Thanks for the reply. I never saw that checkbox before. That did the trick. I would like to figure out what is using the device, but I can't figure out how to. I have nothing else running. It's when I log off XP and re-login. Or, if my screen saver kicks in and I password lock the screen. When I log back in, and start Sonar, I get this message. Not sure what process is using it.

drum roll please...

its Windows XP that is using your driver.

Go to:
Control Panel --> Sound and Audio Devices --> Audio

Make sure that your PC soundcard is selected for the record and playback device and then check "Use only default devices" at the bottom of the window. That should keep XP from bogarding the US-122 driver.

With the settings you suggest, if I play a music CD, it will come out my onboard sound instead of my USB sound device, and Sonar will still use the USB sound device because of the settings in Sonar?

I have the 122 checked as my default device and use Sonar and XP. I just make sure as you have found out to have the checkbox to share drivers with other applications and don't have any problems. I want to playback through the 122 though to my studio monitors not the onboard soundcard. Cake/Sonar does not like to share if you don't discipline it and make it share, it's kind of selfish in that regard.

Yasoo,

that is correct. with your soundcard as your preferred setting and the checkbox for use the preferred setting, your CD player will play out of the soundcard and Sonar will play out of the 122.
