Hi there
I visited a studio where I used to work today and noticed a Urie 565 sat doing nothing! I'm pretty sure they don't use this any more and I wanted to know how valuable it is in terms of its sonic abilities and in monetary terms? I may be able to buy it off them at a good price, depending on the other mixers not already having their eyes on it!
How does it compare to modern analogue EQ's? Is it quiet enough by today’s standards?
They also have a 1178, which is only used in a transfer bay!! I know one of the younger guys there has had his eye on it for some time and I don't want to step on his toes, as he is a mate!
He is also probably going to acquire a U47 at next to nothing that only needs a new tube and possibly a service. BASTARD!!!
If only I had got in there while I still worked there, as I was there before him and would have had first dibs!!
