URGENTplease help! How do I Connect those!!!??

^^^Is this RIGHT?

the equipments are:

Fostex Vf160Ex
FMR Really Nice Preamp 1/3 Rack Two Channel Mic Pre-amp
SE Electronics Z5600A Condensor Mic
KRK RP5 Active Monitors
Sony MDR-7506 headphones

I sent an email to a store about it and they recommanded this;

- 2 XLR Mic Lead
- 4 Standard Jack to Jack Lead

^^Not according to my little Shema, why do i need 6 cables?

HELP ME PLEASE! Urgent!

Mic > Pre-amp > Recording console > monitors/headphones.

I suspect they're assuming you would be using 2 mikes at once at some time.

1 XLR cable/mike
1 1/4"-1/4"/mike (from preamp to mixer)
1 1/4"-1/4"/KRK

X 2 mikes

equals 2 XLR cables plus 4 1/4"-1/4" cables

That would explain it.

XLR from the preamp to the recorder is just fine, keeps the whole chain balanced.
