upon stopping MIDI playback, pitch goes down

As the subject title says, when I stop MIDI playback, the pitch wheel goes down as if someone moved it to the bottom when nobody did. I'm running Sonar Producer Edition 6, but have also endured this problem in Studio Edition 6 and Cakewalk Pro Audio 4.00. I'm using it in conjunction with a Mark of the Unicorn MIDI Timepiece AV.

Any solutions?

This may sound stupid, but this one problem is so irritating it practically renders my ~$30,000 studio worthless.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
