Upgrading to 0.10 strings in my Telecaster

Just a quick question- I'm thinking of upgrading the strings in my Tele to 0.10-0.46 gauge strings from the stock 0.09-0.042s. Before I give it a go, would this require any shaving of the nut to get the strings to fit? It is a Japanese 1968 Walnut body remake, if that helps...

Thanks,

Ron

I haven't ever had to, but that was my guitar, and this is yours, so I dunno. I would say just try it! But that's just me, I'm kinda reckless like that. :D

You'll be amazed at the difference it makes in the sound of the guitar. It won't be that much harder to play, and it'll be worth it.

Should not require any adjustment at all.

And i wouldn't consider it upgrading....different size strings are just about personal preference. ;)

The nut, assuming it is adjusted correctly in the first place (which is far from being a safe assumtion), should not require adjustment. Everything ELSE on the guitar, however, will probably need some tweaking.

And by the by, 0.10?   DAMN but those are big strings, unless of course you meant to say 0.010?

Sorry, but I'm a smart ass by habit.
