Hey there, fellow newbie reporting in. =)

It just so happened that I found some money in my budget that I would like to use to upgrade my equipment since I'm not getting the results that I would've liked. So far my setup looks like this:

Audio Technica AT3035 mic + acoustic guitar ---> Eurorack UB1202 mixer ---> Omni Studio interface for Delta 66. My PC is 1.4 ghz AMD.

I'm trying to record some acoustic stuff (acoustic guitar and vocals) but the sound quality so far has not been very good. It's ok, passable, but I'm looking to get some really good mic/guitar sound.

I was thinking of getting monitors since right now I'm using home stereo speakers (yeah I know :D), a better mic, and maybe a better mixer. Is that what I should be getting and if yes, which brands?

I can spend a bit more than a $1000 on this.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Welcome to the boards :)

I think monitors should be your prime concern. Loads of threads on that around here if you do a search.

My usual chain for acoustic guitar is MXL603->DMP3->soundcard (delta 1010LT).

I really like the sound I get with this (inexpensive) equipment.
