Upgrading from a Fast Track Pro

Hello all,

Title says it all. I'm going to be upgrading my interface from a M-Audio Fast Track Pro and I would like to hear some opinions on interfaces. The reason I'm getting rid of this thing is because it's been doing weird stuff with my left monitor - like loud popping when I turn the volume knob the first few times. Also, no matter how balanced my audio is, the left speaker is always a little louder.

Anyway, I don't have a huge budget at all (under $400 would be nice). So. What do YOU use and why?

How many channels of ins/outs do you want? How about MIDI/ADAT/SPDIF? USB or Firewire?

I personally use a Focusrite Pro 40 -- I love it. I'd recommend it to you because it is right in your price range, but it might not be exactly what you're looking for.
