This is sort of a continuation of a previous post, but I'm trying to plan the next step up in my home studio set-up.
In another post, someone recommended that I move to a seperate HDR and mixer set-up rather than an all-in-one type (Roland 2480 e.g.)
I'm looking at the Alesis HD24- loks like a good unit for a reasonable price...
Questions- Could I use my Roland VS880VX as a mixer and go out to the Alesis via SCSI (or some other way) until I can get a dedicated mixer like the Yamaha O1v?The only other outs on the Roland are a digital SPDIF and the MASTER OUTS .
I don't have the bucks to do this all at once...so this would be an interim situation...
What else will I need to connect the Alesis to the Yamaha (or some other board)? I already have some outboard pres and Comps...
Also, are there other mixers that people could suggest I look in to...I do mostly acoustic music- classical and folk rock...
Again, sorry if this repeats some questions from other forums but I'm trying to do all my research BEFORE I buy...
