Better Than You
K...I'm thinking of a few additions and/or upgrades. Just wondering what some others would do if they had my gear and set-up. So hear is a list of what I have in my modest small home-recording "studio" (studio might be a strong word just yet). Please feel free to state what you would upgrade or change.

currently:
N-track on Windows 2000, P4 2.4 with hyper thread, 1 gig of DDR 3200 ram, 60 gig 7200 HD, dual video monitor set up.
Delta 1010 sound card
Behringer UB2442FX-Pro mixer
Samson 50a powered monitors with KLH 100w powered sub
2 Behringer composers, 2 BBE 482's, Behringer headphone amp, Furman 4 ch. noise gate, Art Tube MP V3
Behringer Vamp pro, Line6 Bass Pod Pro
Mesa dual Rectifier 1/2 stack, Fender Twin Reverb, Mesa Studio stereo preamp, Marshall JCM800 1/2 stack, various Bass and guitars (electric and acoustic)
Roland V-session drums with TD10 expanded TW1
Sure SM57, Sure SM58, Oktava MK319, MXL 603S
Casio CTK671 Keyboard that I use as midi trigger (get sounds from computer)

Depending on what kind of living situation you have, I would start transforming the room into an acoustically sound recording evironment.

In addition to the room I'm using now (9 1/2' x 18') I plan on taking 1/4 of my garage and making an isolation room 7' x 10', with 2 way video monitor. Should be able to record just about anything in a room that size, except maybe drums, but I have the V-drums for that. Getting the rooms acoustically sound is a good suggestion. I should invest some money on that end, not to mention time learning more about it.

Upgrade the monitors - All the gear in the world don't mean diddly if you can't hear it accurately.

I've been thinking about the 65a's, 50a's don't seem to have the low end response they claim to have. Any suggestions on monitors for under $1000
