Update to Sonar 2 and Sonar xl 2

There has just appeared an update for both Sonar 2 and 2xl on the cakewalk site. It says it addresses issues to do with the dx and dxi plugins that were given away with either product.

There is also a readme on this page that fully explains the update.

Certainly one of the issues ie: Edirol dxi not properly showing patch names has been discussed on the forum.
 
I downloaded their preset manager and although it's a cool addition it promptly messed up my existing files.
It seems any effects I had tweaked and not made a preset for were elimanated fom the files.
I've crashed my computer so many times I'm having an airbag installed in my keyboard!;)

Are you referring to the plug-in patch or another file? (You call it preset manager.)
What effects are affected (that sounds funny I know!) because all my previous files seem to have preserved their dx settings and I haven't saved any as presets..
 
I did'nt lose any presets what I lost were effects that I had assigned to tracks and changed the settings without assigning a preset name to them.
Normally I could tweak an effect without nameing it and it would show up when I reopened the file intact,I guess I should've named them.
 
Yeah. I understand. This doesn't seem to be happening with me. All my attached effects are being loaded with each song. I am only using recent effects ie Timeworks compressor, Timeworks equaliser, Anatres Autotune 3.03. I am using Sonar 2 xl.

Are u losing all effects or just some?
 
Oh thats a different piece of software from what I referred to on the original link at the top of this thread! I haven't tried that!
 
I've got that patch I guess I was just tagging this on becuse this is also a new download.
I had problems with the dxi but tech sent me a patch before the official one came up.

I guess my preset message is just a heads up.
