Unwanted reverb in supposedly dry vocal tracks

On my last thread I had a problem with Sound Blaster Live because of the incompatibility in sample rates between my new sound card and CEP. I thought I'd try ordering Audigy 4 since the company where I purchased it had a nice mail-in rebate. I wanted a sound card that would work without having to convert all my backings to 48000 or use the "correct for drift in recordings" setting and for an extra $15, I figured it was worth it. Now I have a new problem.

After installing Sound Blaster Audigy 4 (not Pro), I immediately tried recording something to make sure everything was syncing up properly now. No problems there, but now both the backing and my vocal track have reverb on it. I didn't change any settings and can't figure out why it's there or how to get rid of it. I want just a dry vocal track that I can add fx to. When I play the backing in CEP and hit the stop button, there's a bit of an echo that lingers, too. Can anyone tell me what's going on and how to get rid of it?

Thanks!

Apparently it's a sound card problem because I went back and listened to some of my older vocal tracks and they all have this reverby sound, too. Can't figure out why?

Sorry about the unnecessary thread, but I figured out the problem. Apparently the effects were enabled on the EAX console on the sound card. Didn't realize that I had to disable them.
