Hello Everyone-

This is my first post, although I've been lurking on and off for awhile.

Some friends and I recorded an unusual arrangement of the Beatles "She's Leaving Home".

It was recorded in my friend's studio, using his Tascam 688 8-track cassette recorder.

To check it out, go to:

Yes: very innovative, even ballsey I might add, messing with the time signature, the phrasing and even the actual chords involved while retaining the flavor of the original arrangement. Nice recording as well considering the format.
Even not considering the format. You got the low end dialed in fine as far as my monitors could tell. Nice thump without getting muddy at all.

Bastard sacriligious demons.......I have NEVER heard a Beatle's cover I liked.....................'cept this one.....McCartney would love this, seriously......the changes you made in the song are far from subtle, but as drstawl mentioned, the flavor's still there...this is one sweet cover...this thing needs airplay....gibs

You guys can cover the Beatles with the best of them! I really like the tribute page you have assembled as well as the additional Beatle cover tunes you've recorded.

I give it a 9 out of 10 -- nice alteration of the original arrangement. My only complaint was that the guitars could have been mixed a *little* higher. The bass, vocals, and drums were fine, though.

I liked it.
Nice arrangement, thought the emotion put into it fits the lyrics great!
Excellent use of the Tascam unit.

It's funny...usually when I see that someone has done a cover of a Beatles tune (or anyone for that matter) I get the eebie-jeebies. I think, "Who the hell are you to remake someone else's tune?" And I think they either butcher it or copy it too exactly. I think you really hit a nice balance. This is a great version of this tune, it really is. I like the recording...it was very "live", and that's cool because the original is very "studio". I love how you really made this one an original but maintained the integrity of the Beatles version. I like it, great job!

Oh yeah, I love that Hofner...I want one!
