Does anyone here make the style of hip-hop that wont sell to the general public? AKA, underground hip-hop or Indie rap?

If so, how do you go about networking and finding gigs etc..?
any useful websites youve come across?

For that I would say that you would have to hang around the type of events or webpages that attract those type of artists and listeners. You can search for a forum that supports the rappers and style that you embrace and drop a thread asking for a link to underground hip hop forums for rappers that cater to your type of music. The important thing is to sorround yourself with people that share the same tastes as you, whether it's online or in your city. Ask yourself how would someone find you if they were looking, and then take that and try and find someone else. I hope this helps a little.

im finding some stuff though.

im looking for similar emcees so we can put together a mixtape.
basically, Hustle Magic, with a different style of music.
appearntly my kind dosnt frequent the internet much.

when is hustle magic gonna be dont btw?
im interested in hearing it.
 
i feel u on that underground hip hop tip -- what type of songs u tryin to do -- personally i started out on that tip n made changes as i grew--nfor marketin purposes as well . . .

i will cee - if u serious - if i can round up some folk for it as well . . . i still know a slew of em cees (which has been my personal cross to bear, cuz i know em cees n no salesman!!!)

im gonna ditch this idea, ive been yp for a while and didnt reall think this through.
maybe at a later date, but theres shit i should take care of before doing a project like this.
 
y not ljust do a decent collabo (one or two songs) with underground artists . . . and have the cuts on each of your own cd/ep,etc . . .

I plan to call Bknot this week and discuss what we've got and see if it will float as a whole project or do we want more? I know some people are waiting to get tracks in still, but time's running out on that.
