omg!

lol!!! You used the 'exact' same intro CD that I used on one of my songs! I thought I accidentally clicked on my song by mistake.. damn, that is strange.. I removed the song from my site, but I can't believe you used it too!

That being said, very cool song.. I don't think the effects were needed all the way through the song though.. maybe just certain parts because it distracted at times.. maybe be alittle easier with that effects CD! :D

very cool song though!

We must shop at the same place!

Hmmm.... maybe I need to make my own starting effect. I'll bet I can do that.

Thanks for the advice on the effects.

i only got 44 seconds worth! not sure why that is but what i heard is a really cool start. i like the guitar. don't really like the radio effect thing. just personal taste, i think it's overused. i would just start with the guitar, that part sounded good to me.

uh-huh...because you're the same person, right?

Okay...listened to the tune. It was long, I didn't get bored. Very interesting. No mix comments, really.

Enjoyed it,
Chris

It's like a flat-liner man.It stays the same from begining to end.No dynamics......nothing.....just the same thing over and over...I kept waiting for something to happen musically but it never did....not inspiring at all.

The fidelity is really lo-fi also.

Hey, you can call me a douche bag...no big deal..., you can call Jamal "gay"... (his wife might disagree), but calling me "friend" is a huge insult that I will not tolerate.

:D

Nice song!
I love the acoustic work.
How did you record it?
Nice sounding guitar you have there.

I agree you could lighten up on the effects a little.
Mabey an electric lead guitar break,or heavy lead synth in there somewhere would sound good.IMHO

Cool start, the recording is really good.

Pete

ok...now I gotta hear Bsabbath's song... put it back up, will ya??:D

mix is kinda squashed, echo-y, and a tappy kinda kick drum. Otherwise no other objections worth mentioning.

This is nice, it has a good feel to it. I like your use of percussion. If I have to say something I would say in general a bit overproduced. But nothing specifically detracts from the song for me. It is a little long, but there's some great use of sound bytes, kind of Floydish. The acoustic is just plain cool. Nice mix and good song overall :D

Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions. Someone asked how it was recorded. Recorded on an AW4416. I played all the parts which in this case weren't that many. Two acoustic guitars. Bass, vocal, shaker, synth (in that order). The drums were originally the click track drums. I may replace them... but haven't decided.

Mixed in the effects as necessary. For those interested.... the words can be found in Revelation 18.

I stuck some electric lead on it.... but to me it sounded like if I took that step then it needed real drums. It lost the shaker Babylon feel.... to me.

Thanks everybody for your comments. It's good to get others ideas.
