Hey Sile:

If you have a STEREO PLUG/connector CABLE, you will only get sound through one side.

Most mic preamps are mono so you need to use a 1/4 inch plug (usually) that isn't designed for stereo. You will notice that the jack plug for stereo has an additional notch on it; the mono plugs do not. So, I think your problema is a matter of plugs.

Hello all and thank you very much for your response(s) to my question "Warbling Noise?"

I have a stereo mic and just purchased an MP-13 mic preamp...getting sound out of one earphone only when monitoring. Are there preamps made specifically for unbalanced stereo mics?

Many thanks!!
