Lets say that I have a audio track that has been cut up in to clips.

I am able to select each clip, one at a time, and change that clips gain using the little fade in the clips botton left corner.

How ever, I want to change all of the clips on that audio track at the same time so thjat the same + or - is applied to the clips.

According to the numerous youtube videos, and articals of the various websites, that a google search provides, to do this I only need to do the following:
1. Select the Grabber Object tool and select the clips.
2. How down the windows CTRL + Shift buttons and then either press the up or down arrows or use the scroll button on my mouse and this will change the clip gain.

This does not work and I have tried it with the little az button in the top right of the edit window pressed on (yellow) and off (Black/grey).

Nothing happens at all.

If I right click on a clip to check, clip gain is not bypassed, and I can manually change the gain by using the little pop-out fader at the clips bottom left but only for the selected clip.

I must be doing something wrong but I wonder if the users who make those videos are on MAC machines.
As far as I know MAC CMD key is the same as Windows CTRL and for other Pro Tools functions it works that way.

I would really appreciate any suggestions as I am stumped.

Thanks.

I don't have access to Pro Tools at home and I haven't used it in about a year, but I think selecting the right waveform view might have something to do with it.

[Edit] ...and/or I had to use the clip gain bar rather than the little popout fader. But my memory is hazy and I don't have the software in front of me.

Hi

I tried switching the waveform views but sadly that did not make any difference.

Thanks for the suggestion, I appreciate it.

It's entirely possible the shortcut is different on MacOS. That should be documented somewhere.
I'm afraid I don't know off the top of my head.

Not sure if it's helpful or not but I want to select multiple sequential clips in the timeline,
I use grabber tool, click the first / left most block, then shift-click the last / right most block.
That will select both and everything in between.

You can then switch to the trim tool, ensuring your track is in 'waveform' view,
and drag clip gain for all up or down, preserving any manual automation or changes you may already have.

You can also make the selection with the Selector tool, instead of grabber, but you'd have to double-click the first block,
then shift double-click the last block.

I just searched and found this video that clearly says it's control+shift on a Mac.

I don't have ProTools, so can't try it, but I've noticed that on a couple of other things, i.e., on MacOS, it's not the command key when it's Ctrl on Windows, but actually control.
