un-orthodox use of mics?

I have these mics:
AT4031 (a pair)
ATM33a (cardioid)
ATM23he(hypercardioid)

My recordings mostly are just drums, keyboard, guitar (acc+elec) and vocals.
For years the ATM33a has been used mostly vocals. Recently I tried the AT4031s on vocals and really liked the result. It seems to be less noisy than the ATM33a and sounds more clean and focus...But is it strange to use 2 condenser mics on vocals? I also found that ATM23he works well as a live vocal mic but it certainly looks funny (they are very short mics). I guess I'm trying to avoid to spend money on new mics...I need some advice on how to maximize what I have... Thanks in advance.

To be perfectly honest with you, I don't think it's strange to use two condenser mics on vocals.
Actually, I've sampled a dynamic and condenser combo on both vocals and instruments.
I've found that I could take advantage of one mic grabbing the treble frequency while the other
caught the bass. Both mics were running through a mixer of course and some eq'ing was involved
then the signal is sent to the computer.
The results are a sound that's a little more complex than the traditional "this or that" individual mic.
I guess it's whatever floats your boat. What sounds good to you and what YOU like, so I am told.

Marilyn Manson wins the thread...I saw him a few years ago and at one point he inserted a mic into, shall we say, a woman's posterior and continued singing.

(Actually it was a plastic prosthetic device, but it was still really cool)
