Djembes Rock
Now that Cakewalk has admitted to purchasing Ultrafunk, it seems a given that it will show up in at least one of the versions of Sonar 3x.
To you Ultrafunk users, how do they compare to other companies? Are they as CPU intensive as Waves? Are they as good of quality? Do you like them better, the same, or worse? How are the mastering plugins?
Is it worth it to wait for the Sonar 3.x upgrade, or should we be looking at other dx-bundles?

Sincerely,
Terry Kingen

Look at the Waves effects (they are the best, IMHO) and upgrade to Sonar 3.

That wasn't hard at all, was it? ;)

That's a good answer...it's hard to argue with the voice of reason!

Ultrafunk plugins are absolutely great. The user interface is the best, they are not CPU hogs, and they sound top-notch. The compressor is phenominal, and I use it daily on every project I work on. The reverb and delay are also extremely good. The modulator (chorus and flange all in one) I am not so keen on. The wah plug-in is very cool too.
I was really bummed when Ultrafunk went under, and I am glad to see them resurface with Cakewalk.
I have long been a huge Ultrafunk fan and recommended them over Waves because of the high sound quality and the fact that Ultrafunk has never used dongles, PACE protection, or any other honest-user-penalizing copy protection scheme.

...and don't forget to mention the price, Aaron :) Sure it comes to our mind as homerecers... :D I regret, too bad I never bought their product before :(

Aaron,

Thanks for the recommendation for Ultrafunk. I will definitely wait on further purchases until we see what Cakewalk is planning to do.
BTW...checked out your website. Wonderful work you are doing. Your production skills and musicianship are top notch and you have an impressive resume. Good luck to you!

Can't add much to what Aaron said. I use them every day. I tried alot of products including Waves prior to buying their plug ins and they were the best price performance leader in the market IMHO.

Excellent quality compressors, reverb and delay. The parametric EQ is da bomb; very accurate.

If they are the main claim of Sonar XL 3, and have not been updated, I will probably opt for Sonar 3 standard version.
