everybody's talking about nakamichi, tascam and teac for mixing down to cassette. BUt what about the top line form NAD?? Any experiences?? I'm not looking for a reel to reel, but for the ultimate cassette mixdown desk...
I imagine the NAD decks would work pretty well, from what I've heard/read on the Nakamichi forum. At one time I considered getting one when they were still available new, and was impressed, but ended up with the Sony ES instead (I forgot the model number now.) So if you have found one available somewhere, my guess is that it would work quite well.
I will say, though, that my recommendation for serious analog mixing/mastering (cassette) would be the Tascam 122 MkIII. I master with it all the time and love it. Tascam 112 MkII is also very, very good. I think used Tascam decks are fairly easy to come by. . .probably easier to get than blank tape.
