Im currently using....

AT3035 mic
M-Audio DMP3 Pre-Amp
M-Audio Delta 44 Soundcard
+ some shitty PC Speakers :(

Let me know ...i came here coz there is alot of knowledgable users.

there's some dirt in there in the background..not sure if it's part of the song. Very well balenced, I like this a lot. Very impressed with the results from the equipment used. Keep it ip!

Well there is an "old viynl crackle effect" on the instrumental if thats what you mean?

Is it that or something else.

Not my cup of tea genre wise but it sounds good.

Not a huge fan of that 'vinyl crackle' effect- maybe try cutting it back a bit, as it is it detracts a little bit bit from an otherwise nice sound. Personally I think I'd just get rid.

Other than this I think this is a very nice effort. (how come it's so short)?

must be the vynil effect mate...great production otherwise

Thanks everyone .... in reply to the question on length.... its just a first verse from a whole track in the works.

....yep...except for that "crackle" very nicely done....especially for how you say it was produced....interesting accent for a rap tune :D

Good stuff. I happen to like the crackle just not running through the entire verse. Maybe start off with it by itself for a couple seconds, keep it throught the intro and drop it out when the beat kicks in. Oh and really make it noticable, right now it sounds a little dirty. Let people know that sound is intentional.

Sounds really well done though. Nice work.

What you see is:
  • Audio Technica 3035 mic
  • M-Audio DMP3 Pre-Amp
  • M-Audio Delta 44 soundcard
  • Emu PK-6 Proteus Keys Keyboard

The vocal was nice and clear. Sounds like the 3035 and DMP3 are a good combination. Is the instrumental backing all you on that big old keyboard?

Oh... sorry. The Soundclick one. All I get is the "Page not found" message.

I just click it ...works fine for me ...can't help you there.

Great work on vocals, mic and preamp combo feels fine. The file is correct??? I mean you´ve send just 32 seconds of the song???.

Thanks

Hey Absense

Maybe just try the vinyl effect on just the intro then when the vocals come in just go clean. Im like the others, not my cup of tea but it sounds pretty cool. The accent in rapping is kinda cool. you dont hear alot of that.

Very solid man. I'm not a big hip-hop fan but there's something about a Brit rapping that gets me, sounds more intelligent somehow. I love The Streets, Tricky and Massive Attack are probably second on my all-time list. Anyways,
I like the vinyl effect, though it's a little too predictable, it sounds like a loop, which is no good and I think lends to it annoying some. I don't know if you heard Massive Attack's newer album or Bjork's Vespertine, let alone some good old fashioned Autechre, but the effect can be really intricate and make a track, it's just gotta have a rythym all it's own, and definitely not so cyclic. Otherwise only things I think could help are some slight pannings with your hats, widen the field, and maybe bring out the ad-libs (if there are any?) a bit and pan them out too, like I say widen it all. But for real a great track and I definitely wanna hear the final mix.

Oh and hey I just put up a new track (let alone some older ones) and would be real happy if you could check them for me, not hip-hop but sequenced/electronic based schtuff, definitel hit me up if you get a chance.
