UAD-1 or TC Powercore

I was or am on the verge of purchasing the UAD-1 except for the fact that a guitar center employee did not know what he was talking about and gave me the wrong price. When he discovered the error, he tried to claim the product was discontinued. Assuming all works out as I am sure it will, I must decide on this issue.

So, the question is which one is better for me.
I like the UAD-1 for the 1176 and LA2A imitations. On the other hand, I like that TC is open to third-party developement which has led to the availability of some great looking programs for the device.

I could sure use some help form people that have used both or, from those that know something about both.

I've used both, I own the UAD. That card is the shite.

Not that PoCo wasn't impressive, I just love the character of the gear that the UAD emulates along with how well they did it. I still prefer hardware in most cases, but they really hit on something with that card.
 
UAD1 for compression
Powercore for reverbs

That's pretty much the consensus from a variety of boards around the internet. I have the UAD1 and there is nothing better for in-the-box compression.
