Peace......I got this U-CONTROL UCA202 Interface and got problems....WHen the interface is hooked up to the Computer I can do a "sound scheme check" with the Windows XP from the Control Panel and get audio.....The thing is, once I open Cool Edit Pro or Adobe, I get no audio at all.....The only way I get audio is when I jimmy-rigg the outputs of the U-CONTROL UCA202 so that the output goes into the 1/8" mic input into the computer...Which of course is a no-no and the reason I purchased this thing in the first place so that my audio signal comes into the computer through the USB......The question I have is, does anyone know of a Soundcard that I can buy for my computer that I can hook this U-CONTROL UCA202 up to that doesn't require me having to download anything or install other recording programs?...I really don't feel like learning new software.....Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

This might not answer your question, but I have been asking the same question in the Cubase forum. My UCA202 works perfectly with Audacity software, works but is recognised only as a 1 in / 1 out mono device by Sonar 3 and is seen, recognised and 'tested ok' by Cubase SX3 but I can't get any audio through it. I have downloaded & installed the ASIO drivers from Behringer (have you?) for it and, reading some other threads, I am starting to think that the UCA202 model just has compatibility issues to different degrees with different programs.
Good luck:)

xp/sonar 6 P,E

have you tried connecting to different usb input, You never know ?

Problems

I know right?.....After a few days, the thing stopped working again.....Then started up again.....I have checked every aspect of my set up and this thing is the problem.....

I read on a few sites that I needed to download drivers....I went and downloaded http://www.asio4all.com/ not sure if I did it right though....Plus there is a driver you can get on the Behringer website for this thing http://www.behringer.com/UCA202/index.cfm?lang=ENG

I downloaded them, moved the folder in the system32 and I can't figure out how this is supposed to change things......The drivers don't do anything different after dowload, and no Icon pops up on my Control Panel screen on the Windows XP......Something I'm missing?

I just think this thing is malfunctional........If I hook it up straight to the USB, I get no audio.....When I hook it up to the USB along with the 1/8" mic input, I get full audio......Believe it or not, the audio sounds slightly better than before, but this thing aint working the way it was advertised.....I shouldn't have to hook it up this way to get audio.....I also found they are back-ordered at Musician's friend when I tried to order another one....Not a good sign....

Have you setup everything correctly. From what you're saying, it seems as though you have your onboard soundcard chosen as the default recording device. Try control panel, sounds etc, then choose the behringer uca202 as the default.

I don't own a uca202, so not sure if this will help, but it's the first thing i can think of. You've probably already done it though.

You might not have chosen the device in cool edit pro or adobe. Go to preferences or setup or something... I don't own either of these programs either, so can't advise further... but if you're getting sound from the onboard soundcard then, to me, it sounds like it is chosen as the default.

Uca202

The thing stopped working again.....not sure what it is up.....My computer does not recognize this as an input......As I said in the other post, the downloading of the "drivers" does nothing to my Control Panel or computer set-up.....I switched the device Order and the device for Wave In and Wave out several times in Adobe AND Cool Edit Pro.....still can't get the thing to work....I have an Audiophile2496 right here in the box, but I wanted to use this one for the laptop....Has anybody hooked this thing up with good results???!!!

Yeah I have the same interface and mine works perfectly. Before I got Logic I used Adobe Audition and it worked fine I just had to switch the input from the wave in to USB Audio Codec and it worked like a charm. So just make sure your channels are switched to the USB codec. You have to do that for every channel you want to record on unless you change it to USB in Auditions Preferences.

Problems

Sorry it took me so long to reply......I have tried several different "Input" Combinations as far as Wavemapper and USB.....What happens is the volume gets reduced and turns into a Mono signal like the guy said who posted above.....Then you can also hear this ear splitting sound like a drawn out guitar riff in your headphones.....I'm not saying I KNOW I got it hooked up right, but I'd like to hear someone explain step by step what they did to get this to work
