I have an M Audio Delta 44, which works great. However, the sound card that came with the computer is having trouble. Whenever I play digital recordings through it -- thru realplayer, media player, quciktime -- I get distortion. The computer tech support guys said it's because there are two sound cards, that you should only have one. Is that true? Any suggestions

you can have multiple soundcards in your computer at once (i have had 3 at one time) so thats not the issue, but the issue could be your driver versions which causes conflicts (if the drivers have not been updated for the other soundcard though in a long time, that could be a problem). i would update both drivers to the newest ones available. if the other soundcard is intergrated onto your motherboard, look for a update for the mobo itself then. also if you are using a "Via" chipset mobo, there is known conflicts with certain cards. but try updating the drivers first, see if that works
